These can easily hold bulky objects like a .5 liter water bottle, mace, etc. There are 2 handy drop-in pockets outside, and 3 more inside, 2 large and 1 small. more anti-theft features include a Slice-Proof shoulder strap with a pair of 1/16" steel cables that adjusts to 48" for shoulder bag or crossbody sling, and a leash inside the main compartment that can be extended around the shoulder strap to secure the top zipper. This size will easily hold an iPad and legal-size file folders. Sewn with nylon thread for maximum durability. Machine washable microfiber. Non-RFID.
