These include 2 oversized zipper pockets, one outside and one inside the main compartment, that can accommodate bulky objects. "Oversized" means as tall and wide as the bag with pleated expandable linings, and can easily hold things like a .5 liter water bottle, mace, etc. There are 4 handy drop-in pockets outside, and 2 more inside, 1 large and 1 small. This size will easily hold a Kindle or mini iPad. Other anti-theft features include a Slice-Proof shoulder strap with a pair of 1/16" steel cables that adjusts to 48" for shoulder bag or crossbody sling, a leash inside the main compartment that can be extended around the shoulder strap to secure the outside zippers, and a double ended leash to secure valuables inside the front zipper pocket.
