Exactly what I needed
I bought this purse for my trip to Russia. I wanted a small, secure purse that wouldn't be considered a 'large bag' at tourist sites with security restrictions and that had theft-deterrent features. I used the shoulder strap option (you can also make it into a waist purse) and was able to carry it across my body so that the purse fell exactly under my elbow, so that it quickly became habit to have my arm over it at all times. I also like the zipper lock feature; the Moscow metro is often a very crowded place where pick-pocketing is a real risk. The purse also came with a separate wallet-sized pouch that can be connected to one of the locks, should you choose. I didn't feel the need to tether the wallet, but it easily fit inside the purse along with my passport, a small phrase book, a compact camera, sunglasses, hand sanitizer, and a few cosmetic items--pretty much the essentials one needs on an international vacation. I used the outer pocket for quick access to things like train tickets, but beware: it's difficult to lock both zippers at the same time because the clip is fairly small. The fabric on the outside was durable and easily survived dust and heat, and it seemed to block out water pretty well when I got caught in the rain (although it wasn't a serious downpour, so I'm not sure that it's completely waterproof). Small, but very practical purse for site-seeing. It may work its way into everyday use now that the trip is over.
